For new agent it is very much necessary to know about present scenario of insurance industry and what happens in the local market. Otherwise it is difficult for him to survive after getting insurance agency and he finally terminated.

Here’s a simple step-by-step guide on how to become an LIC agent
Eligibility: Standard 10th pass Age 18 and above
Process: Contact your nearest Branch Office and meet the Development Officer there or here register online with our contact page.
The Branch Manager (I/C) will conduct an interview, and if found suitable, you will be sent to training at Divisional/Agency Training Centre for offline. If you don’t have time for four days than also you can take online training from your home.
The training is for 25 hours and covers all aspects of Life Insurance Business in just 21 different chapters. After successful completion of training you will have to appear for Pre Recruitment examination conducted by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). This exam is also conducted online and this is objective Test you have to tick 1 answer from given 4 answers. The passing mark is 18 out of 50 marks and the exam is online only, you have to go test center for that. For Surat it is at Udhana Darwaja. For different places there are different centre.
After successful completion of the examination you will be provided an Appointment Letter and Identity Card to work as an insurance agent. Exam will be given in any language either HINDI, GUJARATI, ENGLISH or any other traditional language…
You will be appointed as an agent by the Branch Office and you will be a part of the team under your Development Officer. The Development Officer will impart you field training and other valuable inputs which will help you in the market place.
Once you become LIC Agent than certain criteria are there to Continue your agency that is called MBG( minimum business guarantee)
1. Either completes 1 Lakh premium P.A Or
2. 6 lives with 50000 Rs of premium P.A or
3. 12 lives P.A (per annum) you have to do any of the 3 to continue your agency every year
